18. Never Say MurderNever Say Murder

"Mordred! Training time! Get in here now!" Master's  hoarse voice floated through the halls of the victorian mansion.
"Yes Master, would you like tea?" He called from the kitchen.
"No!"
    Mordred waltzed into the hallway, His black hair was rustled by a breeze from an open window. The raven colour accented his dark, glossy eyes. His clothes were mere rags found in various garbage cans and dumpsters, but they could not hide his muscular physique. He never smiled, but the solemn look on his face had every girl on the eighteen year olds heels. No exceptions.  His walk was firm, but with a slight edge to it, like he was trying not to run away in a fierce battle.
    Once Mordred reached the parlour, Mordred hoisted the crate Master set out for him on his shoulder. He followed her as she packed all of the valubles into the crate. While he walked, he thought about Master. Water Demons live Never Say Murder 2        Mordred awoke on stiff surface.  There was a gentle sway, like an ocean almost.  As all ways, his senses came back one by one. First, his feeling, then taste, hearing, smell, and last of all, sight. He was in an infirmery, perhaps on a ship. After all, the air smelled of salt and dead fish.  His breath was ragged, and hoarse. Almost like he had been through serious trauma or damage. He noticed a shadow in the corner of his eye, moving slowly. He turned his head to catch a glimpse of the thing, only to find a young woman. She was wearing a white fitted dress, and a headband to hold back her hair. There were black butterfly bows tied to her wrists, securing lace gloves. She was probably mid-twenties, early thirties. Her hair was cut short into a bob. Altogether she was beautiful. Too bad he wasn't interested.
"Well hello there." Her voice startled him. He was so deep in his thoughts he didn't notice her staring at him.
"Uh, h Never Say Murder 3"Hello?" A female voice came out of the blue. His eyes snapped open immediatly. Her face was directly in front of his.
"Gah!" He screamed and flattened himself against the wall. "W-where'd you learn to walk? Make a sound lady! Alright, who are you?" He jumped up and took the time to actually look at her. She had salt and pepper hair, tied in a blue bow twice the size of her head. She looked about seventeen, eighteen. He found this strange, considering her hair colour. Her lips were cherry red but showed no sign of lipstick or gloss. The girls eyes were a steel colour, like a freshly sharpened blade. They shimmered though, as if she didn't want to abandon the hope she clung to as a child, despite the evidence that this world was cruel, decieving, and swallowed people like her if they didn't leave such fantasies behind. She smiled at him with such contentment that he actually blushed and took a softer tone for her.
"S-sorry. What's your name?"
"Maxine luro. Call me Maxie though
